Day 34: Doin' it up right.

Bangkok is the place to be. There's always something going on, especially in the area where we're living next to Siam Paragon. We walk down to the food court every night and seriously...yall probably think I'm lying...but every night there's a different set up or a different event being held in the plaza next to Paragon or MBK. Tonight was Wednesday, so you know what that means? MUAY THAI FIGHTING!!!!! Oh...by the way, I wrote an article for the Lee Clarion about Thailand sports. Check it out at www.leeclarion.com - "Blogs from Bangkok."

So we saw some fighting and then got dinner...you know, the usual "cowmanguy" (chicken & rice) from the Paragon food court, though Outback was calling my name. No no no...Australia Day was LAST week! Can't hit that food up again...it's all Thai food this week; Allison and I pinky promised. P.S. Dairy Queen Blizzards don't count. We also tried to go see a movie for a whopping 80 baht ($2.50), but The Men Who Stare At Goats was probably the worst choice ever. We walked out because we were bored, though there were some pretty funny quotes. ("What are you doing?" "Cloud bursting." Haha.) So we just hung around in the mall plazas and took pictures. Seriously, the entire place is decorated for Chinese New Years! It's beautiful! Asians don't play when it comes to decorating and making stuff look good. They go all out. There were lanterns hanging and dragons flying over the waterfalls...it looks unreal. I love the entire atmosphere around Paragon. Recently, they put up some pretty cool sculptures of tigers or something all over the area. There are probably 10 of them in all different colors. I guess that might be for Chinese New Years, too. Who knows. But yeah, it's so frustrating taking pictures over here because they really just don't do it justice. We're just livin' the dream!

I'm really missing all you guys back home! I need to upload photos onto Facebook so you can really see everything! We're going to the beach this weekend...some Island called Koh Sumet, so that sound be fun! I also talked to my contact up in Chiang Rai tonight, and everything is perfectly in order for our trip up there! The orphanage is really going to take care of us...they're giving us a place to stay, food to eat, showing us around the city, and even picking us up from the airport. Thank God!!!!!!! I am so glad and relieved that everything is working out for our trip up there. I can't wait to get to the orphanage and see all the kids! Talking to Deb tonight increased my excitement by a million! We're gonna get to help out with praise and worship practice with the kids, do the "fun Friday night activities," and visit the local schools. I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait! Ok...I'm going to go now. Only 2 more days of teaching and then traveling...this trip has gone by way too fast.

I'm out.
Cwalk.
